Mockingjay Part 1 Movie Review

Official movie poster

So tell me, how badly are you feels hurts with this one?

Mockingjay Part 1 and so no one thought much of it. They were probably like- how much can happen? It's just half of it and the first part so most likely the boring part.

But if you think half a book is not enough to destroy your fangirl part- which is all of me by the way- then you were greatly mistaken.

I cried. I sobbed. Now let me you tell you more fully how.

Alright, my sobbing began the day it aired in theatres. Mainly, because I would not be able to watch it. I had a friend's computer and I was on Tumblr that night, and that is when I first heard The Hanging Tree. It was enough to pull me over the edge, a Tribute not getting to see the second to last movie? Really? Is the world that cruel?

Yes. I mean, we're talking about The Hunger Games so you should believe it is that cruel.

Anyways, I was waiting to see the movie until it came out in good quality. Obviously I'd watch it somewhere online (illegally, sorry not sorry), but I still wanted it good quality. So I waited. I got the chance to go to an actual movie theatre but that was in January and I highly doubted that even a movie as great and highly expected as Mockingjay Part 1 was going to be on for more than two months. So obviously I was right and I couldn't watch it in the movie theatre.

And then, I looked for it on YouTube. And found it. And I began to watch it with my best friend. And I died.

Obviously speaking in Fangirl terms. So I finished watching it by myself and it was good. I hadn't expected anything less. And to be quite frank, I haven't heard any negative comment about it and if you have, they probably haven't read the book.

Jennifer was amazing as always, she portrayed a very Katniss-y Kantiss. And Josh... well I didn't need my heart anyway so I had no problem with him breaking it into a million pieces with one. Tortured. Look. And I was glad they added Effie, who of course was meant to fill in on Katniss' original prep team but since they didn't pay them much (as in none at all) attention in the first movies, it made sense they didn't bother trying to add them now. And I like Effie.

The cast was perfect guys, let's be honest. And I was really happy and broken to see the other districts as well because well, as you know the book doesn't talk very much about it as we're in Katniss' broken mind. And the fact that they added it means a lot to me, especially having the scenes be so epic like, District 8- those spider-monkeys were fantastic! And The Hanging Tree part? OH, heck yeah schist is getting down now.

I just loved the movie, and it provoked as many feels as I thought it would. So, I will now conclude this particularly long post.

It's a great movie that really sets the tone for the 4th and final movie in The Hunger Games series, and if you don't like it- well then why don't you go join Snow in his garden. But since I know you do, I can't wait for Mockingjay Part 2 and I hope I get to see it with someone who cries alongside me and will do the salute with me as well when certain things happen.
