The Hanging Tree (Rebel Mix) Review

Mockingjay Soundtrack

So tell me, you like The Hunger Games, don't you.
You can be sure as Tartarus I do.
And Mockingjay Part 1 was great (I'll review that soon) and The Hanging Tree song? DAMN.
But now the mutts have made a 'remix'.

And this is what I think of that.

People are complaining about us, complaining against this song. If you open it in YouTube and read the comments, you'll see what I mean. And you may also find my comment saying most of what follows here. But I thought I'd share it here anyways because this blog is meant to be the place where I can express myself fully and when I am defending my fandoms in writing, I tend to write really awesome schist.

So, yes, it sounds good. The beat is nice and catchy, but this was never meant to be a song for enjoyment.
All tributes are emotionally attached to this song, (not this version, mind you) because it became a symbol to the rebellion. It became a part of the story the second Katniss began to sing it and inspired the districts to stand up and fight.

I mean, it's as if you wrote a poem, depicting your losses and your woes, full of meaning to you and those who share your feelings and suddenly, they turn it into a catchy song for all to hear but never listen. For all to buy but never understand. For all to like but ignore the depth and the meaning you had bestowed in it. Mutts will never understand our attachment to this song as they have never understood our relationship with this world and its people.

But we will continue complaining, because they just took the tune of all Tribute and Rebel and exploited it in the name of money. Expect nothing less from us. We expected nothing more from them, I can assure you.

And feel free to share this with whom ever you'd like. I will forever stand by these words.
