Official movie poster |
So tell me, have you read the book yet?
If you've read my review, you are already aware that I was not impressed. If you haven't now you do. I'm sorry if that offended you.
And now, we have the movie which I'm kinda of reviewing late but whatever. That doesn't matter much- to me at least.
I guess it's really no surprise that they decided to make this a movie. I'm still kinda annoyed that they haven't given the chance to other great books but oh well.
The book wasn't a nail biter so I didn't have high hopes for the movie. I watched it online and in very bad quality but I didn't care much for it so I didn't have problem with it. And I saw it with a friend. It was kinda hard trying to retain the spoilers. Especially when he said he liked the "small chubby guy". We both know (I think) what happens there.
Quite frankly, I didn't remember much of the book when I saw it. And I don't think they did too bad. The casting was pretty good and let's face it Newt is hot. So it wasn't all bad. I really enjoyed how they created the maze, it was pretty similar to what I had in mind. And the Grievers were really good as well. They were almost disturbingly good. Although, I think that for those who haven't read the book, seeing the movie doesn't really show much of the trilogy plot. But then again- neither did the book.
It's really confusing and holds a lot of unanswered questions and The Scorch Trials Movie is coming out soon too, and it really helps (kinda- not really) trying to solve some of the very confusing puzzle.
I assure you when the 2nd movie comes out, a lot of people are going to be left even more confuse. If they follow the book of course which I still have to review...
I think I've been very random in this one so let me conclude.
Comparing it to the book it was okay. I am not a big fan if this particular phenomenon which is why I am not very enthused as shown above so sorry for that. But I guess if you're bored and you have nothing to do or perhaps you did like the book/trilogy then you should check it out. See how much it confuses you.
